Palestinian Che Guevara in the Toronto Star

Mafaz Al-Suwaidan, in a special article for the Toronto Star regarding the history of the kaffiyeh, reproduced my Palestinian Che cartoon. Thank you, Ms. Al-Suwaidan, for your kindness.

"In 2002, Brazilian political cartoonist Carlos Latuff introduced a drawing of Che Guevara with a kaffiyeh wrapped around his head. This image was popular amongst pro-Palestinian activists, but did not go mainstream. Why? Probably because it clearly calls for revolution in Palestine, and a call like that is one that neither H&M nor Urban Outfitters et al would like to include in their spring collection."

Getting blog hits from U.S. military organizations is not a big surprise to me, specially when Pentagon announces that it will expand its "Information Operations" on the Internet.

Bush seeks 70 billion dollars for Iraq, Afghan war

US President George W. Bush formally asked lawmakers for 70 billion dollars to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan into early next year, when his successor takes over.
